HIRING – Technical Assistant to the Deputy DG (Startup International NGO)

Location: Abuja

Work Schedule: Hybrid

Reporting Line: Deputy Director General

About Company: Our client is a foremost non-governmental organization that is committed to the development of leadership capabilities and national development in Africa.

Job Objective: The client is seeking a proactive, experienced and intelligent Technical Assistant to help the Deputy Director General to organize and manage key priorities, and balance important internal systems, processes, and stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support including schedule management, correspondence, and administrative tasks in day-to-day operations.
  • Provide apt research and analytical support on trends and developments in the external environment for informed decision making.
  • Coordinate the development of thought leadership articles, technical papers, presentations, briefing documents and reports.
  • Support the monitoring, tracking and reporting of progress and target achievement on initiatives, projects and programs.
  • Provide technical support for the realization of strategic and operational goals and objectives.
  • Attend to correspondences linked to the organization where the Deputy DG provides support and ensures that they are properly attended to in a prompt manner.
  • Improve the Deputy DG’s turnaround time on correspondence that requires his attention and swift dissemination of outbound correspondence.
  • Manage sensitive matters with a high level of confidentiality and discretion especially decisions directly impacting the global operations of the organization.

Key Requirements:

  • First degree in any relevant discipline from a reputable institution. An MBA will be added advantage.
  • 4+ years of experience as a technical assistant to a top executive preferably from a Consulting Firm.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Proven ability to conduct research, analyze data, and prepare informative documents.
  • Experience with technical document management, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Excellent communication skills; strong command of the English language.
  • Excellent judgment and impeccable discretion, maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Adaptive to changing priorities, identifying conflicts, and proactively suggesting resolutions.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills; resourceful and detail-oriented with a track record of solving complex problems independently.
  • Proactive; self-starter with an approachable “can do” mindset and a positive attitude.
  • Think clearly and analytically problem-solving.
