<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><ul><li>The Programme Officer will be supporting the implementation of the Projects, focused on political intelligence reporting, social media campaigns, and achieving all project objectives.</li><li>The officer will be responsible for gathering and analysing political intelligence to inform strategic decisions, tracking relevant policy changes, and identifying risks that could impact the health sectors, particularly for vaccine research and development. Additionally, the officer will support the design and execution of social media campaigns to raise awareness and support the project’s goals.</li><li>The ideal candidate must be competent in effective time management, excellent independent writing and communication skills and working with limited supervision to meet deadlines.</li></ul><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br />Political Intelligence Reporting:</p><ul><li>Develop and disseminate bi-weekly political intelligence reports on the health sectors in eleven focus countries Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Mali, Ghana, Uganda, DRC, Congo Brazzaville, Rwanda, and Cameroon.</li><li>Utilize artificial intelligence tools for social listening and collaborate with global and local networks to gather insights relevant to the project's R&D work on Lassa and Mpox.</li><li>Verify and qualitatively review information gathered, ensuring accuracy and relevance before reporting.</li></ul><p>Communication Support to Increase Visibility:</p><ul><li>Design and execute themed social media campaigns aligned with the project’s initiatives in Africa, leveraging Nigeria Health Watch’s platforms Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube.</li></ul><p>Project Management:</p><ul><li>Support joint bi-weekly check-in meetings to review project progress, discuss insights from political intelligence reports, and align on strategic priorities.</li><li>Ensure timely delivery of consultancy deliverables, including reports, articles, and event coordination.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in public health, Communications, International Relations, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, public health communications, or international development.</li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in developing and publishing content for diverse audiences.</li><li>Proficiency in using social media platforms and analytics tools for campaign management and reporting.</li><li>Familiarity with artificial intelligence social listening/media monitoring tools for data gathering and analysis is an advantage.</li><li>Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities within tight timelines, as well as proactively communicate with teammates and stakeholders.</li><li>Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.</li></ul>
