Full Job Description

As a 3D Artist, you will be responsible for creating stunning 3D models, environments, and animations for a variety of projects.

You’ll work closely with our design and production teams to bring creative ideas to life, whether it’s for video games, visual effects, product visualizations, or architectural renders. We are looking for someone who can balance both technical and artistic skills to produce visually striking and high-quality 3D assets.

You will be an integral part of our creative process, contributing to the ideation phase, and taking ownership of the entire 3D creation pipeline—from modeling to texturing, lighting, and rendering.

Key Responsibilities

3D Asset Creation:

  • Modeling: Create detailed and photorealistic 3D models of characters, environments, props, and other assets using industry-standard software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.

  • Texturing & Shading: Apply textures, materials, and shaders to bring models to life with realistic detail or stylized effects, depending on the project requirements.

*

  • Lighting & Rendering: Set up lighting for both real-time and pre-rendered assets, ensuring that final renders are visually stunning and optimized for performance.

*

Animation & Visual Effects:

  • Animation: Animate characters, objects, and environments for dynamic, lifelike movements, using keyframe animation or motion capture data.

*

  • Visual Effects (VFX): Create special effects, including particle systems, fluid simulations, and dynamic physics-based effects for cinematic or interactive experiences.

*

Pipeline & Collaboration:

  • Optimization: Ensure all 3D assets are optimized for performance across various platforms, including VR/AR, real-time engines (Unreal Engine, Unity), or film pipelines.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with concept artists, designers, and technical teams to ensure assets meet both artistic and technical requirements.

*

  • Problem Solving: Address technical challenges related to 3D production, including geometry clean-up, UV mapping, and optimizing assets for different formats or game engines.

Creative Input:

  • Artistic Vision: Collaborate with the creative team to develop visual concepts and push the artistic boundaries of each project.

  • Innovation: Stay updated on the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques in 3D art, and continuously bring fresh ideas and innovations to the team.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ Years of Experience: Proven experience as a 3D Artist in a professional setting, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of styles and complex 3D projects.

  • Expertise in 3D Software: Proficiency in industry-standard 3D modeling and animation software (Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, ZBrush) and texturing tools like Substance Painter and Photoshop.

*

  • Real-Time Engine Experience: Experience working with real-time rendering engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity for game and interactive experiences.

*

  • Strong Understanding of Lighting & Rendering: Mastery of lighting techniques and rendering processes for both pre-rendered and real-time projects.

*

  • Texturing & Material Creation: Expertise in creating high-quality textures and materials, from UV mapping to PBR workflows.

*

Preferred Skills:

  • Sculpting: Experience with digital sculpting tools such as ZBrush for creating highly detailed organic or hard surface models.

  • Rigging & Animation: Understanding of rigging and character animation workflows.

*

  • VFX Knowledge: Experience in creating particle effects, fluid simulations, and dynamic visual effects for interactive or cinematic projects.

*

  • Virtual Reality (VR) & Augmented Reality (AR): Experience developing assets optimized for VR/AR applications.

*

  • Scripting: Basic scripting knowledge (Python, MEL, C#) for creating tools or automating processes is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₦175,000.00 per month
