<p><strong>Summary of Position</strong></p><ul><li>The Public Health Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for managing its Public Health laboratory and Museum as may be requested by the Dean.</li><li>The candidate shall contribute to keeping the Laboratory/museum safe, maintaining and managing its equipment for students use.&nbsp;</li><li>S/he will work closely with the Dean and Chair of Public Health in guiding students through laboratory experience in line with the development philosophy of the American University of Nigeria.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Detailed Listing of Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain safety of the Laboratory equipment</li><li>Manage and maintain Laboratory inventory</li><li>Control and Manage the use of Laboratory equipment by students, Faculty and Staff.</li><li>Promote a good atmosphere, cleanliness and excellent laboratory environment for use.</li><li>Lead and take visitors on a tour of the Public Health Laboratory and Museum.</li><li>Maintain the safety of artworks/ exhibitions and other fragile Health pictorials, artefacts and health digital contents of the Laboratory/museum</li><li>Be part of other committees aimed at promoting Laboratory development, staff welfare etc.</li><li>Contribute to AUN&rsquo;s community service and development.</li><li>Other duties as assigned by the Dean.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements for the position</strong></p><ul><li>HND/BSc in Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.</li><li>Certification or licensure from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria MLSCN or equivalent is a plus.</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably with a focus on public health.</li><li>Experience in academic or research-oriented laboratories is an asset.</li></ul><p>Other requirements, abilities for the position:</p><ul><li>Experience in problem centered approach to learning.</li><li>Experience in safety, managing people and Laboratory equipment.</li><li>Good communication skills</li><li>Good command of English Language.</li><li>Experience in the use of basic computer skills like Microsoft office documents.</li></ul><p><strong>Description of Benefits</strong><br />Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and job classification as approved by the University.</p>
