<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p><ul><li>We are seeking a skilled and experienced Server L2 Windows Engineer to join our IT team.</li><li>The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of our Windows server environment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.</li><li>This role requires in-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems and experience with troubleshooting server-related issues at a Level 2 L2 capacity.</li></ul><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br />Server Administration:</p><ul><li>Manage and maintain Windows servers, ensuring system uptime, security, and performance.</li><li>Perform routine server maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and backups.</li><li>Configure and deploy server hardware and software as needed.</li></ul><p>Troubleshooting and Support:</p><ul><li>Provide Level 2 L2 support for Windows server issues, resolving escalated incidents that require specialized technical expertise.</li><li>Diagnose and troubleshoot server performance issues, connectivity problems, and configuration errors.</li><li>Work with Level 1 support teams to ensure effective handover and escalation of issues when necessary.</li></ul><p>Monitoring and Optimization:</p><ul><li>Continuously monitor Windows server performance and health, utilizing monitoring tools to proactively identify potential issues.</li><li>Conduct performance tuning and optimization to ensure server efficiency and reliability.</li><li>Implement and maintain server documentation, including configurations and troubleshooting procedures.</li></ul><p>Security and Compliance:</p><ul><li>Ensure all Windows servers meet security standards, applying patches and updates to address vulnerabilities.</li><li>Conduct regular security audits, backups, and restore testing to maintain data integrity and compliance with IT policies.</li><li>Collaborate with the security team to implement best practices and policies.</li></ul><p>Collaboration and Communication:</p><ul><li>Work closely with other IT teams, such as network, storage, and application support, to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.</li><li>Communicate effectively with end-users and stakeholders, providing updates on server health and maintenance schedules.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.</li><li>Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Windows server administration, with at least 1-2 years in an L2 support role.</li><li>Certifications: Microsoft certifications such as MCSA, MCSE are a plus.</li></ul><p>Skills and Competencies:<br />Technical Skills:</p><ul><li>Proficiency in Windows Server OS 2012, 2016, 2019, or newer.</li><li>Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with server monitoring tools.</li><li>Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and other Windows server functions.</li><li>Familiarity with server virtualization technologies e.g., VMware, Hyper-V is a plus.</li></ul><p>Soft Skills:</p><ul><li>Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.</li><li>Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.</li></ul>
