<p><strong>Job Summary </strong></p><ul><li>The Head of Legal and Corporate Services will provide strategic legal guidance and ensure regulatory compliance while overseeing corporate governance and administrative functions. The role requires a proactive and business-oriented professional with strong leadership skills tsupport the company’s objectives and protect its interests. </li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong></p><p>Legal Advisory </p><ul><li>Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of the company’s operations, including property acquisitions, sales, and leasing. </li><li>Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, contracts, and agreements. </li><li>Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. </li><li>Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes in coordination with external counsel. </li></ul><p>Strategic Planning </p><ul><li>Collaborate with senior management talign legal and corporate strategies with business goals. </li><li>Identify and mitigate potential legal risks that could affect operations or growth. </li><li>Stay updated on relevant laws, trends, and best practices in the real estate sector. </li></ul><p>Leadership and Team Management </p><ul><li>Lead and manage the legal and corporate services team tachieve departmental objectives. </li><li>Provide mentorship and guidance tteam members tenhance their professional development. </li><li>Foster a culture of compliance, professionalism, and ethical practices within the organization. </li></ul><p>Corporate Governance </p><ul><li>Develop and maintain corporate policies tensure effective governance and compliance. </li><li>Oversee the organization’s regulatory filings, board resolutions, and shareholder agreements. </li><li>Serve as the company secretary, ensuring proper documentation of board meetings and decisions. </li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications and Requirements </strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Law LLB; possession of a Master’s degree or certifications in corporate governance is an added advantage. </li><li>10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role. Experience in the real estate or construction industry is preferred. </li><li>Membership in the Nigerian Bar Association or other relevant professional bodies. </li></ul><p><strong>Skills: </strong></p><ul><li>Strong knowledge of real estate laws and regulations. </li><li>Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills. </li><li>Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. </li><li>Strong leadership and team management capabilities. </li><li>Key Competencies </li><li>Business acumen and commercial awareness. </li><li>High ethical standards and integrity. </li><li>Ability twork under pressure and meet deadlines. </li><li>Strong organizational and multitasking skills.</li></ul>
