<p><strong>Description </strong></p><ul><li>We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Proposal/Project Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering to join our team.</li><li>This individual will be responsible for preparing proposals, managing engineering projects, and ensuring successful project delivery from conception to completion.</li><li>The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, an analytical mind, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.</li><li>Prepare technical proposals and bids based on client requirements, specifications, and project scope.</li><li>Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and suppliers to develop cost-effective solutions and meet project objectives.</li><li>Create detailed engineering project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely delivery within scope and cost constraints.</li><li>Provide technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design to final delivery.</li><li>Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and resource planning to ensure project success.</li><li>Review and ensure compliance with project specifications, regulations, and quality standards.</li><li>Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and construction, to ensure smooth project execution.</li><li>Provide regular project updates and progress reports to stakeholders and management.</li><li>Identify and mitigate potential project risks or delays, implementing corrective actions as needed.</li><li>Prepare commercial deliverables and liaise with Legal and Contracts for contractual deliverables for inclusion in Client tender submissions: generally commercial qualifications, contractual qualifications, Price schedule, and Cancellation schedule.</li><li>prepare specifications documents to submit to vendors for quotations of cost/price of materials and equipment and evaluate same against tender specifications to include in the final tender documentation. Prepare the final price quotation and submit it to the Head of the department for approval.</li><li>Propose procurement strategies to reduce costs and optimize schedules where required.</li><li>Prepare the corresponding ITT package and manage the bid process including expediting receipt of bids, clarification, commercial & contractual evaluation, risk analysis, recommendation, ensuring input and review by management.</li><li>Ensure all third-party costs are fully identified, confirmed, and included in the cost estimate. Ensure only qualified suppliers are recommended and initiate the supplier qualification process where necessary.</li><li>Draft the proposed subcontract for inclusion in the ITT package where appropriate. Participate in all relevant subcontractor and supplier meetings where the agenda relates to commercial and contractual matters, including cost and schedule to be aware of all project activities which may affect the contractual position and exposure to risks.</li><li>Resolve contractual positions with subcontractors and suppliers where required. Foster smooth and effective working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers and ensure performance feedback reports are completed in the appropriate systems.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications & Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree BSc in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.</li><li>Minimum of [2] years of experience in proposal writing, project engineering, or a related engineering field.</li><li>Strong technical knowledge in mechanical engineering principles, design, and project management.</li><li>Experience with project management tools and software e.g., MS Project, Primavera, etc..</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.</li><li>Proficient in the use of engineering design and drafting software AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc. is a plus.</li><li>Knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and standards.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.</li></ul>
