Whatcom Community College invites applications for a 75% Time, Program Assistant (Class Code 107M) position. The Workforce Funding Program Assistant provides administrative support to the Workforce Funding team and in-person customer service to all Workforce students and students coming and going from the office suite. Reporting to the Associate Director of Workforce Funding, this individual works directly with college staff and students.
Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
- May provide reception and front desk customer service including phone line management.
- Maintains detailed and accurate data and caseloads for a multitude of programs.
- Provides technical and administrative support to Workforce Funding staff.
- Assists with Workfirst attendance sheet processes, tracking, and entry into online databases.
- Maintains the Workforce Funding Canvas page with regular content and data updates.
- Enters monthly case notes into the DSHS database.
- Compile and interpret Workforce Funding data.
- Support BFET and Workfirst with annual program monitoring preparation.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Two years full-time clerical experience.
OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and comfort with Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of spreadsheet development and formulas.
- Comfortable working collaboratively within a team and conducting work independently.
- Familiarity with SNAP, Workfirst, and local social service organizations.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Salary:
- This is a 75% time, classified, WFSE (Washington Federation of State Employees) represented position. Salary is Range 37, starting at Step C, $2,544.75 per month which is 75% of the full-time salary of $3,393.00, with periodic increments to $3,145.50 per month which is 75% of the full-time salary of $4,194.00. This is a grant-funded position with annual renewal contingent upon continuation of federal and state grant funding.

Shift and working conditions:
- Position's work schedule is 30 hours per week.
